Bleaching is an elective procedure which if properly done in selected patients can provide excellent results.

If the patient is having any tobbaco habits they must stop before bleaching is initiated.
A few female patients may be heavy tea/coffee drinkers and they must either reduce their heavy consumption of tea/coffee (easier said than done) before bleaching is initiated.

the patients must be carefully explained the pros and cons of the procedure.

It all boils down to proper case selection. If bleaching cannot be done than there are very few options left for white teeth . Veeneers which have their own pitfalls. Crowning is too destructive.

No prep veneers can be done in a few cases.

Hope this helps,

Veerendra
