Rubber dam provides the best isolation but not many indian dentists use it because of the time and economical constraints and also it requires a little amount of skill..

this should be use by every dentist,,,,best method to control isolation

All of us are aware of its advantages but still we hold ourselves back for using it. Rubber dam just doesnt fit in the indian dental scenario due to lack of time and skill on the part of the clinician and financial constraints on the part of patients..

Can we substitute the rubber dam with other application other than cotton rolls and all .We can modify rubber dam application with less skill and easy to easy use without much cost with proper isolation..

while rubber dam would be the best many studies have shown that there is no difference in the longevity of the fillings done with or without the rubber dam. So proper isolation with cotton rolls coupled with proper suction should do the job.
